Yorkshire Terriers - Keeping Your Yorkie Well Groomed.

How shortly should you start grooming your Yorkshire terrier? At least twice a week, because Yorkies have such a particular coat that correct grooming is needed for their accumulative healthy appearance. Next, be certain to check around their eyes for any building up of mucus. Whether your yorkie has a long or short coat, a regular grooming schedule is a complete must.

If daily brushing and brushing your yorkie isn't your cup of tea, consider a shorter cut. I keep my yorkie cut reasonably short as she doesn't enjoy being groomed and so grooming her isn't fun for me. I find using the kitchen sink is the best place for my small yorkies bath.

It is critical not to use medicated shampoo unless your vet has prescribed it. Employ a dog shampoo that's applicable for your yorkies skin type. Don't use shampoo on your yorkies face unless it is fully obligatory as it is vital to keep the shampoo out of her eyes.

I find it best to take my yorkie into a confined space like the lavatory after her bath. Trimming the hair around their ears with scissors is the next thing to be done as it is easy to cut when the hair is wet. Check your Yorkies nails and if they need trimming just ensure you do not trim them too short. If you would rather have your Yorkie professionally groomed from head to toe that's a completely great choice to consider.
